JEDDAH — Iran said it welcomes Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman’s remarks over relations with Tehran in a recent television interview.
"Riyadh and Tehran can adopt constructive dialogue and overcome differences," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Thursday.
Khatibzadeh also emphasized that "Saudi Arabia and Iran are important countries in the Islamic world, adding that "the bilateral cooperation is important in ensuring security and stability in the region."
It is noteworthy that Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in the interview said Saudi Arabia views Iran as a neighboring country and Riyadh aspires to have good relations with it.
“At the end of the day, Iran is a neighboring country. All we ask for is to have a good and distinguished relationship with Iran.”
He added that Saudi Arabia has a problem with Tehran’s negative behavior, its nuclear program and its support for militias.
