MoH, SDAIA launch center of excellence for AI for health sector

RIYADH — Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah and President of the Saudi Data and Al Authority (SDAIA) Dr. Abdullah Bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi inaugurated here Sunday the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in the Health sector, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.

During the inauguration ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry and SDAIA to activate the joint work between the two sides in several fields.

The joint work included the development of the national strategy for data and artificial intelligence in the field of health, the assistance in building the basics and standards of the health data and artificial intelligence capabilities, and building a national center for innovation in the field of data and artificial intelligence in the health sector.

On this occasion, the minister of health expressed his happiness on the inauguration of the center and signing of the memorandum of understanding, hoping that the inauguration and MoU will contribute to expand providing artificial intelligence services in the health field, which will be reflect positively towards achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, the SDAIA president welcomed the existing cooperation between the Ministry and SDAIA, which comes within the directives of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, the SDAIA chairman of the board of directors, towards strengthening the governmental integration and redoubling efforts to upgrade the services provided to the citizens and residents. — SPA
