COVID-19 recoveries surge as KSA sees continued drop in new cases

JEDDAH — Single-day COVID-19 cases continued to remain below the 1,000-mark for the third consecutive day on Monday, with 986 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced 13 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the deadly virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 427,370 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,085.

The ministry also reported 1,076 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 410,816.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 339 followed by the Makkah region with 283 and the Eastern region with 131 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.

According to the ministry, there were 9,469 active cases and 1,341 of them were in critical condition.
