KSrelief carries out zakat distribution project in number of countries

JEDDAH — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the charity arm of Saudi Arabia, has stepped up its humanitarian efforts ahead of Eid to ensure all Muslims join the festivities.

As part of its relief efforts, KSrelief is continuing with distributing zakat to needy families in a number of low-income countries.

On Tuesday, the center distributed 4,681 bags of rice in a number of Pakistani regions, benefiting 28,086 individuals.

A day earlier, KSrelief distributed 14,351 bags of rice in a number of Pakistani regions, benefiting 86,106 individuals.

Commending the work of KSrelief, Pakistani Minister of Communications Murad Saeed on Monday thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for the humanitarian support being provided for needy people in Pakistan and other countries.

The aid is part of KSrelief's project to distribute zakat in Pakistan, which is estimated at 19,032 bags of rice weighing 400 tons, benefiting 19,032 families and 114,192 individuals.

The center continued to carry out its relief efforts in Lebanon on Tuesday. It handed out 180 tons of rice to Syrian and Palestinian refugees and the host community in Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Sidon, benefiting 93,000 individuals.

On Monday, KSrelief distributed clothing to orphaned children of Syrian and Palestinian refugees and the host community in Lebanon, benefiting 6,548 children as part of the zakat distribution project.

In Bangladesh, KSrelief, in cooperation with the Muslim World League, distributed on Tuesday in Bangladesh 100 food baskets benefiting 5,000 individuals.

This aid is part of KSrelief's project to distribute food baskets to displaced people from Myanmar in Bangladesh.

On Monday, KSrelief launched the zakat distribution project in a number of Yemeni provinces.

In the Marib governorate, the center aimed to serve 8,500 displaced and affected families. The zakat distribution project was also launched in the Al-Mahrah governorate.

Deputy Governor of Al-Mahrah Mukhtar Bin Awaid praised Saudi Arabia's effective humanitarian efforts in Yemen in various sectors, stressing the importance of distributing zakat in Yemen in light of the current economic conditions.


The project in Hadhramaut and Shabwah governorates aimed to benefit 52,500 individuals in the Hadhramaut Governorate, and 24,500 individuals in the Shabwah governorate.

Beneficiaries expressed their thanks for this humanitarian gesture from the Kingdom of, represented by KSrelief, and for providing them with zakat, which will contribute to alleviating the sufferings of families due to difficult humanitarian conditions.
