Recoveries continue to surge as new cases in KSA drop below 1000 mark

JEDDAH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia dropped below the 1,000 mark on Friday, with 927 new infections were recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, 12 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 431,432 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,134.

The ministry also reported 1,608 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 415,747.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 265 followed by the Makkah region with 262 and the Eastern region with 128 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just two regions reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 8,551 active cases and 1,323 of them were in critical condition.

The Kingdom has also till date administered 11.206.688 doses of the vaccines.
