COVID-19 situation in Saudi Arabia is stabilizing: Health ministry spokesman

The curve of confirmed cases in Saudi Arabia is passing through a stable phase and that the trend of the epidemic curve is in a downturn, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, said during a press conference on Sunday.

He also said that the drop in the new cases can be attributed to the ongoing vaccination campaign and adherence to preventive measures, stressing the importance of having a limited number of people in meetings and other functions.

Dr. Ali elaborated that the ministry will continue to recommend the application of precautionary measures until the end of the pandemic, indicating that the coronavirus situation in the Kingdom is stabilizing. He called on travelers to know the epidemiological condition of their destination countries.

According to the health ministry, as many as 11,527,100 doses have been administered in the Kingdom through 590 vaccination centers. While labs and centers across the Kingdom have so far conducted about 9,950,328 COVID-19 tests.
