Three arrested for attempting to smuggle over 2,700,000 Amphetamine tablets

RIYADH — The Official Spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Capt. Mohammad Al-Nujaidi said that the security follow-up of activities of criminal networks that plan to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has resulted in foiling an attempt to smuggle 2,700,000 Amphetamine tablets.

The GDNC caught the gang trying to smuggle the contraband hidden inside the roof of a truck trailer. The GDNC carried out the operation in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Jeddah Customs.

Capt. Al-Nujaidi said that the three members involved in the case were arrested, and they included Sudanese and Syrian nationals and a displaced person.

He added that the detainees were apprehended and faced initial legal procedures before being sent to the Public Prosecution. — SPA
