WHO chief lauds Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts, especially in Yemen

GENEVA — Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts, especially its generous support for Yemenis, have drawn applause from Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The WHO chief lauded the Saudi efforts during his meeting with Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, who is the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

In the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of mutual concern discussed, including the humanitarian and relief operations being carried out in Yemen. Discussions also covered means to enhance and activate the humanitarian programs funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the charity arm of Saudi Arabia.
