Prince Abdulaziz seeks closer inter-ministerial ties in meeting with top German interior ministry official

BERLIN — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, who is currently on an official visit to Germany, met with the State Secretary at German Federal Interior Ministry Dr. Markus Kerber, at the latter’s residence here on Friday.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prince wished a speedy recovery for his German counterpart, Horst Seehofer, who has tested positive for coronavirus, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

They later discussed means to enhance joint cooperation and security coordination between the two ministries, especially in the field of promoting technical and security capabilities to realize the mutual visions related to security and stability in the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying the Saudi interior minister.

Prince Abdulaziz arrived at Brandenburg Airport in Berlin on Thursday where he was received by German Federal Police Chief Dr. Dieter Romann, a number of senior officials of the German interior ministry, and the Saudi ambassador to Germany, Essam Beit Al-Mal.
