MANILA — The Saudi embassy in Philippines announced on Saturday the resumption of sending Filipino workers to the Kingdom, a day after suspending the practice because of reports that Filipinos were being asked to pay for COVID-19 quarantine and insurance costs.
According to media reports, the Philippines halted the deployment of workers to Saudi Arabia after it received reports that employers were making them pay for COVID-19 testing, quarantine, and insurance upon arrival in the Kingdom. — SG
