Kuwait manpower authority to enforce noon work ban from June 1

KUWAIT — The Kuwait Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) announced, Sunday it will enforce the ban on working in exposed areas during noon hours starting June first until the end of August in compliance with decision 535/2015.

The Director General of (PAM) Ahmad Al-Mousa said in a press release that inspection teams would follow up with the implementation of the decision during the next three months.

The authority will organize surprise inspection tours on different locations to monitor any violations and take legal action against violators, Al-Mousa explained.

The decision aims to protect workers from the extreme heat, as well as regulating work process not reducing working hours, he added.

During the past years, many companies in different sectors approved the decision that came in line with Kuwait obligation to apply International labor standards, the official noted.

He stressed that employers are committed to guarantee the health and safety of their workers, as well as complying with the labor law and decisions regulating it. — KUNA
