ISLAMABAD/ABU DHABI — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan held telephonic talks on Monday with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan

The two leaders reviewed prospects of growing bilateral relations on all fronts while discussing a number of regional and international issues of interest, the UAE’s official news agency WAM reported.

According to the WAM report, they deliberated ways of strengthening joint action and solidifying regional and global peace and stability.

The conversation touched on the continuing efforts made by the two nations as part of the global battle against COVID-19, with the two leaders enunciating the importance of ensuring global synergy to stem the economic, social and humanitarian fallout of the pandemic.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Imran Khan conveyed his appreciation for UAE’s cooperation and steadfast support including at multilateral fora.

He underscored the importance of responsible withdrawal of foreign troops and steady progress by the Afghan parties toward a political solution, the PMO's statement added. — Agencies
