Saudi Arabia’s first civil society theater association set up in Jazan

JAZAN — Saudi Arabia’s first official civil society association specialized in the field of theater has been established in Jazan, drawing appreciation from Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan who wished its members good luck.

The association known as the "Khwaid" Association for Theater and Performing Arts in Jazan has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

According to the chairman of the society’s board of directors, Ali Bin Yahya Al-Khubrani, the association seeks to spread theatrical and artistic awareness and will hold theatrical shows involving adults and children in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The association will also conduct training courses and workshops, providing opportunities to the youth of both genders to present their ideas, creativity, and talents, Al-Khubrani added.

He stressed that the association seeks to participate in local and national events and festivals, as well as to develop theatrical arts teams. It also seeks to contribute to the establishment of theaters aimed at building an educated theater generation and developing theatrical talents within the region.
