RIYADH — A two-week long joint air exercise, entitled, "Tuwaiq 2," kicked off in central Saudi Arabia on Sunday in the presence of Maj. Gen. Mohsen Bin Saeed Al-Zahrani, commander of the Prince Sultan Air Base and heads of participating delegations.

The joint air drills, which requires a high level of technical and administrative skills and expertise, involves air forces of Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates apart from the host, Saudi Arabia.

Bahraini and Kuwaiti air forces are participating in “Tuwaiq 2” as observers, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

“The joint drills are aimed at raising the operational and training readiness for tactical airdrops and enhance the spirit of competition among the participants,” said Lt. Col. Mohammed Ibrahim bin Sufyan, commander of the exercise.
