Coronavirus active cases in KSA near 10,000  again as new infections remain above 1,200

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded 1,274 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight increase as compared to Tuesday’s tally of 1,261.

The ministry also announced 15 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 461,241 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,503.

The ministry also reported 1,028 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 443,810.

The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 437, followed by the Riyadh region with 277, the Eastern region with 180, and the Madinah region with 90 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just two of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 9,929 active cases and 1,565 of them were in critical condition.
