JEDDAH — The CEO of Saudi Railway Company, Bashar Al-Malik, met on Monday with French Ambassador to the Kingdom Ludovic Pouille to discuss aspects of cooperation with French companies in the field of railways.

“Rich and fruitful meeting with Bashar Al-Malik, CEO of the Saudi Railway Company. Exchanges regarding the reinforcement of the cooperation with French companies within the implementation of the Vision2030 in the strategic field of the railway,” the French envoy said in a tweet on Monday.

The meeting comes amid reports that French transport technology provider Alstom, which is working on the Riyadh Metro project, is targeting expansion in Saudi Arabia.

The Riyadh Metro project, a part of the Riyadh Public Transport Project, is nearing competition. — SG
