RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir met here on Tuesday with John Kerry, US special presidential envoy for climate.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Commenting on his meeting with Kerry, Al-Jubeir later tweeted, saying: “It was a pleasure to have met with Secretary John Kerry @ClimateEnvoy on his first visit to the Kingdom after assuming the position of US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.”

The US envoy is visiting countries around the world in preparations for a climate summit being hosted by President Joe Biden next week.

The summit is a key milestone ahead of the UN Climate Conference, known as COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland, in November this year.
