Saudi foreign minister, Austrian president hold talks, seek to strengthen bilateral ties

VIENNA — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met on Tuesday with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen at the presidential palace in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

At the outset of the meeting, the Saudi foreign minister conveyed greetings and good wishes of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to the Austrian president, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal and the Austrian president reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in all fields.

They also sought to strengthen joint coordination in regional and international issues of mutual interest as well as on exchanging experiences and exploring opportunities for cooperation in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in order to boost the bilateral ties.

The meeting was also attended by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Austria Prince Abdullah Bin Khalid Bin Sultan, who is also the Kingdom's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna.

Earlier in the day, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met on Tuesday with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg in Vienna and held a joint press conference.
