Saudi Gazette report

VIENNA —
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan has called on the international community to hold Iran accountable for its nuclear activities.

“The role of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Iran’s nuclear program is crucial,” he said while addressing a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg here on Tuesday.

Regarding the Yemeni crisis, Prince Faisal said that the Iran-backed Houthi militia has deliberately escalated the situation and attacked Marib, pointing out that the militia rejected the ceasefire initiative in Yemen. “The Kingdom presented a strategic initiative for a ceasefire in Yemen, and it is keen to stop the war in the country,” he said.

The minister revealed that Iranian interference in the region figured in his talks with the Austrian leaders, adding that the Kingdom has a common vision with Austria regarding the stability of the region.

Commenting on the new Israeli government, Prince Faisal said: “We do not have relations with Israel and a change of government therein does not affect us.”

The minister also noted that the Kingdom believes in interfaith dialogue, and is committed to addressing the challenge of climate change.
