President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad has met with chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Mohammed Ali Al-Nsour and officials of the Office of the High Commissioner.

RIYADH — President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad has met with chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Mohammed Ali Al-Nsour and officials of the Office of the High Commissioner.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Awwad reviewed the most prominent reforms and developments in the field of human rights in Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that those reforms and developments and the period during which they were achieved reflect the leadership's determination to move forward towards everything that would promote and protect human rights.

The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation within the framework of the memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation signed between the HRC and OHCHR. It also discussed ways to activate a number of items included in the memorandum, and cooperation between the two sides to achieve common goals. — SPA
