RIYADH — President of Human Rights Commission (HRC) Awwad Al-Awwad met here on Thursday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs Daniel Benaim.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights.

Dr. Al-Awwad highlighted Saudi Arabia's reforms and pioneering steps in protecting and promoting human rights, women's empowerment, and sustainable development, in accordance with the leadership's directives and in light of Saudi Vision 2030.


The US official also met with Secretary-General of Muslim World League (MWL) Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, who is also the chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association.

During the meeting, they reviewed issues of common interest and prospects for cooperation between the two sides.
