ROME — Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Abdullah Al-Rabeeah met here on Monday with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Qu Dongyu.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of common concern related to the humanitarian and relief field, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
They also discussed ways to enhance the joint cooperation for humanitarian efforts in order to support the needy people across the world.
Al-Rabeeah, who is also an adviser at the Royal Court, briefed the FAO director-general on the humanitarian efforts of KSrelief’s, the charity arm of Saudi Arabia.
He apprised the top UN official that KSrelief is carrying out 1,616 projects in 68 countries around the world, including 652 projects in the sectors of food security, nutrition and early recovery.
The FAO director-general praised the Saudi humanitarian efforts through the KSrelief in various countries of the world, stressing that the center's work contributed to alleviating the suffering of many in need, especially as it targeted vital and important sectors in human life.
