Tawakkalna awards medals to organ donors

June 29, 2021

Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Tawakkalna application, in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT), awarded three types of medals — gold, silver and bronze — to organ donors.

The Tawakkalna medals are given as moral support and social recognition to organ donors in appreciation of their sacrifices for patients suffering from organ failures.

The gold medal is awarded to donors of all organs while the silver medal is given to those who donated two or more organs and the bronze medal is awarded to donors of one organ.

The medal will appear to the right of the donor’s image on the Tawakkalna application, while the donor card appears among the special donor’s cards.

It is noteworthy that SCOT and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) launched in May the registration service for the organ donation program on the Tawakkalna website and application, facilitating the enrolment of citizens and residents in the program.

The launch of the service comes following the registration of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in SCOT’s organ donation program.

The SDAIA, through the Tawakkalna application, seeks to enhance cooperation with the SCOT and support its efforts in connecting those willing to donate organs to the needy in a bid to realize the aspirations of wise leadership and its directives on the importance of supporting the humanitarian work.
