YANBU — Yanbu Commercial Port received today the ship "FREEDOM LINE", which has a capacity of (54,000) tons, representing the first of several shipments of wheat that are expected to arrive at the port for Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) after the completion of the silos project that was established with a capacity of 120,000 tons.

The silos project aims to support growth plans, increase handling quantities, provide an attractive environment for shipping lines, enhance commercial traffic, as well as ensure the continuity of supply chains associated with achieving balanced food security.

Yanbu Commercial Port is considered a strategic seaport due to its proximity to the local markets of Madinah and Qassim regions, and a gateway to the transfer of trade to and from these economically promising areas. It is located around 460 nautical miles south of the Suez Canal, and 168 nautical miles northwest of Jeddah Islamic Port.

The port includes 12 berths with a length of about 4.2 km, in addition to a 180m length and 10m width tourism berth, connected to its two berths for refueling and receiving yachts.

The port's capacity is more than 13.5 million tons in addition to a passenger terminal that can accommodate up to 2,000 passengers, a general cargo terminal, and two silos for storing bulk materials with a capacity of 20,000 tons per unit. — SPA
