Police in Makkah arrest 2 Pakistani residents for shackling brother

JEDDAH —
Policemen have arrested two Pakistani residents for shackling their brother in order to restrict his movement after a video of the victim went viral on the social media.

On the official Twitter account, the media spokesman for the police in the Makkah region said that the security authorities in the region after watching the video identified the victim who was a Pakistani resident in his thirties.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was shackled by his two brothers who were later arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for the completion of necessary legal procedures against them," the spokesman added.

The police did not reveal more details about the circumstances of the incident, and the reasons that prompted the two brothers to shackle their sibling.
