RIYADH — Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim met on Thursday with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Al-Hajraf held at the headquarters of the ministry in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they discussed several issues related to enhancing economic cooperation and integration among GCC countries, such as the customs union and a joint Gulf market in line with directives of leaders of GCC countries to forge economic integration for the collective benefit of member states.
Al-Hajraf lauded sustainable development plans Saudi Arabia is implementing, adding that they will get a boost with the cooperation from the GCC cooperation.
He stressed the Council’s keenness to provide support to enable the execution of joint gulf plans and strategies.
The GCC Secretary General also praised the efforts of GCC countries in facing economic and commercial challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and their efforts to enhance joint cooperation in light of these challenges in a way that benefits the countries and peoples of the GCC.
