Hajj Ministry inspects pilgrims reception centers in Makkah

JEDDAH — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has inspected the pilgrims reception centers for Hajj season this year 1442 AH in Makkah.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdelfattah Bin Suleiman Mashat, said that the ministry has identified three mechanisms for receiving pilgrims.

The first mechanism includes those who arrive at the centers by buses approved by the ministry in coordination with the Hajj companies, then pilgrims permits are verified and the smart card "Shayir" is read, then pilgrims will be transported by buses to the Grand Mosque to perform the arrival tawaf.

The second mechanism includes pilgrims arriving at the centers by buses from Hajj companies, after the completion of their reception procedures they will be transported to the Grand Mosque by buses approved and authorized by the ministry to perform the arrival tawaf.

The third mechanism is allocated to those who arrive at the reception centers individually by private cars, after the completion of their reception procedures will be transported to the Grand Mosque by buses approved and licensed to perform the arrival tawaf. — SPA

Saudi Electricity completes new

projects of SR480 million for Hajj


Meanwhile, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) completed preparations for this year’s Hajj season through implementing several new projects in Makkah and the Holy Sites with a value exceeding SR480 million and increasing preparedness level through assigning work teams spread in various areas of the Holy Sites.

SEC Interim CEO Khaled Bin Hamad Al-Gnoon noted that the new projects aim at enhancing the electric system, where all preventive maintenance projects were completed and all applications to deliver electric power to camps, facilities and public and private institutions were met in Makkah and the Holy Sites, in addition to completing the replacement of all 7,785 mechanical gauges in the sites with smart gauges.

Al-Gnoon stressed that the company is keen, through these schemes, on providing electricity services with high level of credibility and efficient performance to ensure the comfort of pilgrims in a way that helps them perform rituals easily. — SPA
