Interior Minister assesses security preparations for this year’s Hajj

MINA — Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, who is also the chairman of the Hajj Supreme Committee, said that the efforts made by the security forces and government and private agencies during this year's Hajj season contribute to achieving the levels of security and safety aimed at protecting the pilgrims in this exceptional season due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

He made the remarks during his visit to the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in the Makkah region this evening to monitor the movement of the pilgrims who made their way from Arafat to Muzdalifah.

The interior minister inspected the preparations of the security and government authorities to carry out their missions as per the approved plans and regulations for this year's Hajj season.

Earlier in the day, the minister inspected the progress at the Security Forces Hospital in Makkah, and the preparations of the medical services at the Ministry of Interior including the deployment of field medical teams, to provide comprehensive health care for the employees of the Ministry of Interior and the security sectors at the sites of carrying out their duties in Makkah and the holy sites.
