COVID-19 active cases in KSA rise again as new infections outnumber recoveries

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday recorded 1,273 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 14 more people died due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 512,142 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,103.

The ministry also said that a total of 1,091 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 493,240.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 339, followed by the Makkah region with 207, the Eastern region with 200 and the Asir region with 174 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 10,799 active cases and 1,380 of them were in critical condition.
