July 23, 2021

Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — Hussain Al-Qahtani, the spokesman of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), expected that next month will be the hottest month of 2021 with the mercury soaring in most regions of the Kingdom.

Speaking to the Al-Ekhbariya channel, he said that the temperatures will rise at the end of the current rain spell, which is expected to recede gradually from Friday (July 23).

According to Al-Qahtani, the humidity will be mainly concentrated on the Kingdom’s eastern coasts as well as in the Makkah region while the humidity will be less on the highlands and inland regions such as Najran and Riyadh.

It is noteworthy that the Climate Services Department at NCM revealed a few weeks ago that the average temperatures for the month of May this year were the highest for the same month since 1991.

In a statement on its Twitter account, NCM stated that the month of May this year witnessed the highest temperatures in three decades.
