ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has unveiled a policy for coronavirus booster jab, inviting fully vaccinated citizens and residents to take an additional dose for stronger immunity.

The government announced the policy at a weekly briefing on coronavirus on Tuesday.

According to the new measure, booster shots can be provided to all fully vaccinated individuals after 6 months of the second dose, and 3 months after the second dose for individuals at high risk.

Bookings for the booster shots can be made via the UAE’s health ministry’s website or the official COVID-19 app.

According to the health ministry, the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot will help stimulate immunity, especially against the new strains.
