JEDDAH —
Eight Saudi female engineers, who are specialized in survey and geospatial information systems, have been carrying out major tasks as planners at the Jeddah Mayoralty. They have been working on digitization by naming places with special codes and recording them geographically.

Eng. Yasir Al-Muhammadi, the director of the Center of Survey and Geospatial Information Systems at the mayoralty, said that all the works of female engineers are technical and they undertake the tasks of classification of residential, commercial, and other types of projects.

He noted that the future trend tends to make a full survey of the city of Jeddah and upgrade it to a three-dimensional authority.

Al-Muhammadi also unveiled plans to expand, adding the value and quality of the mayoralty’s activities by attracting and embracing the skills and talent of more female staffers.
