61% of school, university students inoculated against coronavirus

RIYADH — The Ministry of Education revealed that the rate of immunization among male and female students of public schools and universities across the Kingdom reached 61 percent while the rate of vaccination among teachers, administrative staff and officials rose to 92 percent.

In a statement on its Twitter account, the ministry stated that the percentage of vaccination among male and female students of universities reached 85 percent whereas the rate of immunization among academic and administrative staffers at the universities accounted for 64 percent.

As part of the measures that have been taken to ensure the safe return of intermediate and secondary students to schools and universities with the beginning of the new academic year on Aug. 29, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health (MoH) have called on all students at the age of 12 and above to get the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine before Aug. 8.

In a tweet, the MoH stated that the appointment dates for the first dose for students in the age group of 12 and 18 have been booked well in advance and that they can now enter the Sehhaty application or Tawakkalna application to know the details of the appointment.
