COVID-19 cases remain below 800 as KSA administers over 30 million vaccine doses

RIYADH — New COVID-19 cases continued to remain below 800 on Monday, with 796 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 11 more people died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 534,312 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,345. According to the ministry, a total of 557 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 515,539.

The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 142, followed by the Riyadh region with 134, the Eastern region with 132, and the Jazan region with 83 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 10,428 active cases and 1,393 of them were in critical condition.

The ministry also announced that it has so far administered over 30 million coronavirus vaccines doses through more than 587 vaccination centers.
