Oman has so far administered over two million coronavirus vaccine doses to citizens and expatriates, marking a major milestone since the start of the country's vaccination campaign.

Out of the total 2,008,140 coronavirus doses, the number of those who took the first jab stood at 1,359,622, accounting for 68 percent while the number of those who took two doses stood at 648,518 making 32 percent.

In a statement carried by the Oman News Agency, Oman's health ministry said it is continuing with its campaign vaccinating target segments against COVID-19 in all the governorates of the Sultanate.

Meanwhile, the ministry on Monday recorded 236 new cases of coronavirus and 12 deaths over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 298,942 and virus-related fatalities to 3,948 in the Sultanate.

The ministry added that 607 new cases have recovered, bringing the total number to 285,664 recoveries.
