RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) have arrested a total of 207 Saudis and expatriates for their alleged involvement in corruption.

The arrested included several officials and employees from the Ministries of Defense; Interior; National Guard; Health; Justice; Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing; Environment, Water, Agriculture; Education; Commerce; Human Resources and Social Development; and Media.

The arrests were made following monitoring and inspection rounds carried out by the Nazaha officials during the month of Dhul Hijjah.

Nazaha conducted investigations into administrative and criminal charges against 461 defendants following a total of 878 inspection rounds.

Nazaha sources said that out of these suspects the arrests of 207 were made after finding evidence for their involvement in bribery, abuse of power and forgery.

The legal procedures against them are being completed before bringing them to court, the sources said.
