RIYADH — The Ministry of Education has directed education departments and schools in all regions and governorates across the Kingdom to give admission to children of illegal residents. The directive is to enable the children to pursue their studies during the new academic year of 1443 (2021-22).

In a circular sent to directors of education, Acting Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Saad Al-Fohaid had referred to the letter from the Minister of Interior that contained the adoption of the mechanism for implementing the Royal Decree No. 828 that instructs the Ministry of Education for the enrollment of children of those groups who are residing in the Kingdom in an illegal manner.

“We hope that the school administration will hand over the attached form to guardians of the children to fill out their data, and then they will be directed to approach the emirate of the region to complete the data and attest the form, and then return the form to the school administration so as to enable their sons/daughters to study during the academic year 1443.

The school administration has to furnish the Public Education Agency (the General Administration of Evaluation and Admission) with a monthly statistical report about the number of students who got enrolled in all phases of public education, in accordance with the mechanism referred to above,” Al-Fohaid said in the circular.
