Expat, who maligned children in social media, arrested in Makkah

MAKKAH — The Makkah police arrested a Yemeni national who was accused of posting malicious remarks against his children through social media.

Spokesman of Makkah police said that the security authorities were able to identify and arrest the Yemeni after he posted on his social media account content that included offensive remarks against his children.

It was found in preliminary investigations that the man in his 50s published baseless and malicious allegations against his children. The man was handed to the branch of the Public Prosecution in Makkah to complete legal procedures against him.

In a related incident, four Sudanese nationals were arrested for their alleged involvement in the stealing of 580 heads of cattle in the Makkah region.

They were found involved in many crimes in Makkah, Jeddah and Taif after their illegal crossing into the Kingdom. The criminals were handed over to the Makkah branch of Public Prosecution for taking punitive measures against them.

Meanwhile, Maj. Khaled Al-Kraidis, spokesman of Riyadh police, said that a gang of five people was arrested after their involvement in beating up a man and stealing his mobile phone.
