Ithra launches theater program in schools

RIYADH — The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), launched the “Theater in Schools” program in its first version on Sunday (Aug.29), in cooperation with the Education Department of the Eastern Province.

The "Theater in Schools" program aims to build a cultural platform that enhances the passion for learning and innovation, and promotes interest in theatrical art.

The program provides training courses and specialized workshops for students, teaching them the basics and skills of teaching drama and theater.

The program includes an introduction to acting, performance and audio production, movement and physical performance, and storytelling.

The "Theater in Schools" program also aims to expand its training courses to middle schools by designing and delivering online training courses and train 40 middle school teachers and students in the Eastern Province.

The National Institute of Dramatic Arts and the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy will collaborate with Ithra in order to present a streamlined program.
