RIYADH — The Arab Coalition forces supporting Yemen’s legitimate government said on Wednesday that it had intercepted and destroyed three explosive-laden drones launched by the terrorists Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The Coalition said, in a tweet carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), “this hostile escalation by Houthi militia targets civilians and innocent people.”

The Coalition destroyed a third explosive Houthi drone in Yemeni airspace, just hours after two other drones that belong to the Iran-backed group were destroyed, the SPA reported on Wednesday.

The Houthis are deliberately targeting civilians and civilian objects, Coalition spokesperson Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said, adding that Coalition forces would be taking the necessary operational measures to protect them.

Shortly after announcing that one explosive drone was destroyed in Yemen’s airspace on Wednesday morning, the Arab Coalition said a second one was also destroyed.

The Coalition forces on Tuesday thwarted two drone attacks in 24 hours on Abha International Airport, in which eight people were injured when the Coalition destroyed another Houthi drone that had targeted the Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
