September 03, 2021

RIYADH — Saudi national football team started Thursday its campaign in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, by defeating Vietnam 3-1, at the Marsool Park Stadium in Riyadh.

The Vietnamese team took the lead by scoring its sole goal in the 3rd minute. Though the Saudi team imposed its control over the first half it failed to score.

But they were unerringly on target after resumption. The Saudi team gave no chance to the Vietnamese in the second half with the three of the best scored sequentially by Salem Al-Dosari, Yasser Al-Shahrani and Saleh Al-Shehri. — SPA
