RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued orders on Tuesday to terminate the service of Public Security Director Gen. Khaled Al-Harbi with his retirement.

The King also directed that Gen. Al-Harbi and 18 others who are accused of corruption to be referred to the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) to complete the investigation into the charges as well as to take necessary legal measures against them, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The royal decree stated that the decision was based on a report submitted by the concerned authority about Gen. Al-Harbi’s involvement in many violations with the aim of taking possession of public money for personal benefit.

According to the decree, Gen. Al-Harbi was accused of committing a number of crimes, including forgery, bribery and abuse of power, with the participation of 18 people from the public and private sectors.
