Moving frame in Tawakkalna app to prevent health status frauds

September 14, 2021

Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Tawakkalna application announced that they have added a moving frame around the status barcode rather than static images in order to prevent health frauds.

The feature was added because people used clever photoshopping and other methods to commit health status frauds.

One of the attempts was by taking a pre-screenshot of the vaccination status and presenting it to the security guards at the markets and stores gates.

The new feature will help to prevent health status frauds by using static images, as this frame in motion around the barcode indicates that the immune status is current in the Tawakkalna app.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi authorities have continued their monitoring campaigns to ensure compliance with the precautionary measures imposed to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as they recorded 22,875 violations of the regulations in one week.
