Thunderstorms likely in several areas of Saudi Arabia

RIYADH -- The National Center of Meteorology has forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by active winds on the heights of Jazan, Asir and Baha and in the Makkah region on Wednesday.

It said there are chances of thunderstorms on the heights of Madinah region.

In its report, the center showed that the surface wind movement in the Red Sea is northwesterly on the north part at a speed of 18-42 km/h, southwesterly to northwesterly on the southern part at a speed of 15-32 km/h, and the wave height is one to two meters up to two and a half meters on the northern part, and the state of the sea is medium.

The surface wind movement in the Arabian Gulf is northwesterly at a speed of 15-38 km/h, the wave height is from one to two meters, and the state of the sea is light to medium waves. -- SPA
