TAIF — The security authorities arrested an expatriate lady doctor who performed abortions at a clinic that she ran illegally in a private medical complex in Taif. The arrest was made after monitoring her activities for several days, which was in cooperation with the Health Affairs Directorate in the Taif Governorate.

It was found, during the monitoring of the Health Directorate inspection teams, that the doctor was performing abortions at a clinic in a famous medical complex in the city. The health authorities noticed that the abortions were carried out in an environment lacking even the basic medical and health requirements. They discovered the dangerous transgression that threatened the health and safety of patients, and violated the Kingdom’s regulations.

The doctor was handed to the security officials for necessary legal measures against her. The inspection teams referred the case against the medical firm to the competent authorities. Expired medical supplies, medical materials to aid abortion, and materials that are unfit for medical use were seized from the facility.

The Taif Health Directorate said that its inspection teams would continue their raid on health facilities. It also urged the public to report to the directorate any information regarding such illegal activities through contacting on its Twitter account @ SaudiMOH937.”

The directorate warned that it would not tolerate any shortcomings that affect the health and safety of citizens and residents, and that it will continue to take legal measures and impose maximum penalties against any health institution that does not comply with the required quality standards for health services.
