RIYADH — The Ministry of Health official spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali stated that taking flu and the COVID-19 shots at the same time would not yield negative effect, while emphasizing that it is considered a safe step.
The Health Ministry spokesman, at the press conference here on Sunday, stressed that critical cases are those who have not completed their vaccination.
Nearly 19 million people in Saudi Arabia have completed both doses.
New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia stayed below the 50-mark for the fourth straight day after briefly going up and down the half century level on Friday, with 41 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.
Al Baha reported the highest number of new cases followed by Riyadh. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.
On his side, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's official spokesman Hisham Bin Saeed confirmed that the Kingdom has issued 21,000 Umrah visas for pilgrims coming from abroad.
The total number of permits given to pilgrims, worshipers and visitors to the Holy Mosques has reached more than 30 million.
The official spokesman confirmed that no case was detected in the vicinity of the pilgrims' service.
