National team matches against Japan, China to have 100% attendance capacity

RIYADH — The Ministry of Sports announced that it was decided to increase the capacity of football match attendance to 100 percent exceptionally as regards the two matches that the Saudi national team will play against Japan, on Thursday, and against China on Tuesday.

The third and fourth rounds of the Qatar-hosted 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers will see full capacity crowd at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. The decision to allow full capacity is based on the approval of concerned government bodies as regards anti-novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic measures.

The Ministry said that attendance of fans for these matches will be limited to those who are over 12 years old and those who received all dozes of the COVID-19 vaccination accredited by the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry also stressed that fans must adhere to all preventive procedures, including showing their dose-taken vaccines on Tawakkalna application at the entrance of the stadium, and wearing masks while entering and exiting and throughout their presence in the stadium.

The Ministry noted that stakeholders will check on applying these measures and take necessary actions if necessary to preserve public health. — SPA
