RIYADH — New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia jumped above the 50-mark for the first day on Sunday after staying below the figure, with 59 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.
The new infections had stayed below the mark for five straight days till it went above 50 on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 2 more people died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 547,591 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,745.
According to the ministry, a total of 41 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 536,626.
According to the ministry, among the active cases 139 of them were in critical condition.
