RIYADH — The Arab Coalition forces to Restore Legitimacy to Yemen has intercepted and destroyed a booby-trapped drone launched by Iran-backed Houthis towards Khamis Mushait, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

A previous drone attack launched by the Houthis on Friday injured ten people including six Saudis, three Bangladeshi nationals and one Sudanese.

The explosive-laden drone struck King Abdullah airport in the Saudi city of Jazan, according to the Arab Coalition. The attack caused material damage to the airport and shattered windows due to the attack.

In Manama, the kingdom of Bahrain condemned the launch of 2 booby-trapped drones by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the city of Khamis Mushait, in a systematic and repeated terrorist attack targeting civilians and civilian facilities in a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the vigilance of the Saudi Air Defense Forces, which were able to intercept and destroy the two drones before reaching their target, stressing that it fully stands by Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and stability.

The Ministry also expressed Bahrain's full support for the measures Riyadh takes to preserve the integrity of its territory and protect its citizens and residents.

Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist Houthi militia for targeting innocent civilians in the city of Khamis Mushait with two booby-trapped drones, as the Saudi air defenses were able to intercept and destroy them before hitting their goals.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen stressed in a statement Tuesday that the Organization condemns the terrorist practices being carried out by Houthi militia.

He also reiterated the OIC support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to maintain its security, stability and the safety of citizens and residents on its territories. — SPA
