MOSCOW — Saudi Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani met the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov in Moscow on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Al-Samaani emphasized the major developments witnessed by the Saudi justice system under the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.

The minister presented an overview of the justice system and criminal justice in the Kingdom, the legislative and digitization advancements under Saudi Vision 2030, and the parallel systems of general judiciary and administrative judiciary.

“The Ministry of Justice has launched several initiatives under Vision 2030, fast-tracking services through the digital transformation of courts and notarial offices,” the minister said.

“These projects have enabled swift justice and allowed clients to file claims electronically and participate in hearings remotely.”

The minister also noted the principles of fair trial applied in the Kingdom, including the presumption of innocence, the multiple levels of the judiciary, and the impartiality of judges.

The two sides also discussed several matters of common interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation under a memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries. — SG
